It costs about $12 per month, but you'll save that much on your bill and avoid the hassle of having to do research and choosing on your own. They will also automatically change you for no extra cost when it would save you more money.

I signed up with Energy Ogre last year at the recommendation of a friend. $12 a month and they shop options, making sure you get the best prices. My monthly bills went from $1000-$1200 last summer to $600 total this summer. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I used to be diligent and shop for what I thought was the best deal on Power to Choose, but I was definitely wrong. My house is 2400 sq ft with a pool and two units and a husband that has to keep the A/C frustratingly low—so I know the price is not comparable. But the decrease in cost was huge!

I have used Energy Ogre for over 6 years and haven't looked back. It's a racket among the energy providers to bait you into a contract and then greatly elevate the fees when the contract expires—at the very least, the entity gets a couple of months of gravy until you switch to a different provider. Energy Ogre is great in that they always switch you or renew you before this occurs and they generally get the most competitive rates—some were lower than what I could find on the texas clearing house website. I used to dread having to haggle every year over electric rates. The service is totally worth it!

Trinity, my Energy Ogre representative, made my experience with Energy Ogre a real pleasure. I have used Energy Ogre for several years and highly recommend them for finding the lowest electricity prices in Texas. However, I want to go further in describing how helpful Trinity was in resolving my login issue with my electricity provider. She was professional, friendly, and patient with this older man. She made me feel recognized and respected without any trace of condescension. That is a very high bar indeed, and she easily exceeded it. In short, she is a rockstar, and you don't pay her enough! :)
